What a flight day involves
You are met at the airfield by your pilot and taken to the briefing room to go through the flight programme and the L-39 Albatros. In California you can choose a relaxed briefing or the fuller Air Force programme. The briefing covers the safety equipment and procedure, and you are fitted with a flight helmet and flight suit.
With the aircraft prepared by the ground crew, you step into the cockpit, the pilot runs through the controls again, and the intercom is tested before takeoff. Typical manoeuvres include rolls, loops, split-S, dives, extreme low passes, tail-chase, steep ascents and the Immelmann. Once you are comfortable your pilot can hand over the controls.
After landing you debrief with your pilot and take a photo with the aircraft. Every flight includes a flight certificate and a post-flight drink, and if you keep a pilot's logbook you can log your flight time.
