How Russian air power is structured
Two operating services
Fighters are flown by the Aerospace Forces (VKS) and Naval Aviation, which operates carrier-capable Su-33s and MiG-29Ks.
The Flanker family
Most frontline Russian fighters derive from the Su-27 Flanker, including the Su-30, Su-34 and Su-35, giving the fleet a common heritage.
What comes next
Su-57 production continues at a slow rate, and the single-engine Su-75 Checkmate has been shown as a lighter, export-focused stealth fighter.

Can you fly a Russian fighter jet?
Flights in Russia are not currently bookable. You can still fly a Soviet-era jet: the MiG-15 from Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic.
